Extremely scarce FS Fighting Knife

A hugely interesting Fairbairn Sykes knife. A third pattern example by Wilkinson, with what appears to be a hand forged blade. The cross guard bears an Ordnance ownership stamp, in itself a scarce feature. The condition is superb. However the most striking aspect of this Second World War issue example is the presence of knot-work loops to the hilt and scabbard. Such work is historically associated with Naval personnel which in this instance suggests a Royal Marine or Naval Beach Commando provenance. Interstingly the knot to the pommel improves the grip and overall feel of the knife quite considerably. In all the knife is likely unique, and certainly both attractive and intersting.
